Auto Expo 2020: Maruti Suzuki Futuro-e concept to globally premiere alongside Vitara Brezza Petrol
Maruti Suzuki India has announced that it will display 17 vehicles at the Auto Expo 2020, which will include the BSVI Celerio, S-Presso, WagonR, Swift, Dzire, Baleno, Ertiga, S-Cross, Ciaz S, XL6 and Swift Hybrid (Japan model).
Maruti Suzuki will also showcase the awaited Vitara Brezza petrol. Along with a new fuel option, the sub-compact SUV will get cosmetic changes. The engine on offer will be the BSVI compliant 1.5-litre petrol engine that powers the Maruti Suzuki Ciaz, Ertiga and the XL6. More details will be revealed at the unveiling.
The current Maruti Suzuki Vitara Brezza is offered with an AMT (automatic) gearbox, however, the Maruti Suzuki, Celerio, S-Presso, WagonR, Swift, Dzire, Baleno, Ertiga, S-Cross, Ciaz S, XL6, Futuro-e petrol is most likely to get torque convertor 4-speed automatic unit that is present in the Ciaz, Ertiga and XL6 automatic. Along with the sub-compact SUV, the Ignis hatchback is expected to get updates as well.
Though the mainstay at the Maruti Suzuki pavilion will be the Maruti Futuro-e concept.àThe Maruti Suzuki Futuro-e concept is an electric coupe-style SUV vehicle and will rival the Tata Nexon EV and MG ZS EV. Maruti has not given any hint regarding the pricing of the SUV, but since it is intended for the Indian market, we speculate the pricing to be very competitive âÂ" expected price range to be between Rs 15-20 lakh.
Maruti Suzuki will use the Auto Expo as a platform to showcase a new design language for the future utility vehicles. This would mean that there will be significant design changes cosmetically for the future models to come up.
