In order to be on top, MG Hector has to battle it out with the popular names in the segment. This includes the Mahindra XUV500, Tata Harrier, Jeep Compass and also the Hyundai Creta. While a real world comparison will give us a more convincing conclusion, here's where does the MG Hector stand when compared to its rivals in India, in terms of pricing.

The Hyundai Creta is priced at Rs 9.99 lakh for the base petrol while the top spec diesel is offered at Rs 15.65 lakh. Hyundai offers automatic on both petrol and diesel engines. It is one of the most popular SUVs in this segment and is also one of the strongest selling one. The Mahindra XUV500 still holds its dominance in some pockets of the country mainly for its aggressive design and street presence. The Mahindra XUV500 too is offered in both petrol and diesel engines. The Jeep Compass has been the benchmark  of this segment and has earned multiple accolades. Be it its premium design or solid built quality, the Compass does have its own unique appeal.  And lastly, the Tata Harrier. The Harrier SUV is presently available only in diesel but an automatic is in works which is expected to launch in the next few months.
