Mahindra has launched the 2017 Mahindra KUV100 NXT compact SUV in India at a starting price of Rs 4.39 lakh for the petrol and Rs 5.39 lakh for the base diesel respectively. Being a facelift of the previous iteration KUV100 which was launched in January 2016, the Mahindra KUV100 NXT sub-4 metre SUV gets 40 new features which primarily include cosmetic changes and some functional updates. This comes in the form of a more aggressive styling package on the front and rear bumpers, as well as sportier wheels. Inside is more modern touchscreen infotainment system and a standard 6-seater setup. The Mahindra KUV100 NXT is available in 5 variants, with all but the base model receiving dual airbags and ABS as standard. Mahindra KUV100 NXT is available in eight colours, and Mahindra is pitting it against the larger and pricier Maruti Suzuki Brezza, and the recently launched Tata Nexon.
Let's see the changes on the NXT:
The front now gets a two-tone bumper with a silver skid plate and an aggressive grille with chrome inserts
Flared wheel arches receive thicker black plastic cladding, wheels are now 15-inch two-tone diamond cut alloys
At the rear are double-barrel clear lens taillamps along with a better-integrated roof spoiler. The sporty theme carries onto the rear bumper with a silver skid plate
Mahindra KUV100 NXT retains the mFalcon G80 1.2-litre petrol engine producing 83PS/115Nm and the D75 turbocharged 1.2-litre diesel which outputs 78PS/190Nm
Fuel efficiency is marginally better with a 3 to 4 per cent improvement due to the KUV100 NXT receiving micro hybrid engine start-stop technology
Interior trim now gets a sporty black theme with piano black inserts, silver accents, 7-inch touchscreen infotainment system on the K6+ and K8 variants, and electronic temperature control
Instrumentation on the Mahindra KUV100 NXT is a twin pod cluster with gear shift alerts
The Mahindra KUV100 NXT also gets two-tone rear view mirrors with integrated indicators
Double barrel clear lens LED taillamps are sportier than those on the previous iteration
The steering wheel gets a silver accent, while the centre console looks cleaner with only one knob unlike the earlier three
