Volkswagen unveiled the sketches of the T Roc R ahead of its official debut at the 2019 Geneva Motor Show. The Volkswagen T Roc R is a more athletic version of the T Roc crossover which was unveiled in August 2017. The sporty T Roc R is expected to be based on the same MQB platform as the standard SUV that it has been derived from.

Under the hood of the upcoming T Roc R could be a 1.5L Turbocharged petrol engine as seen in the eighth generation of Volkswagen Golf GTI. The T Roc R is expected with an option of six-speed manual transmission or a seven-speed dual clutch gearbox. The T Roc R would be equipped with a 48-volt mild hybrid system. The diesel variant could be equipped with a 2.0L engine and would have choices of both manual and automatic transmissions.

The T Roc R was also teased last month in a video released by Volkswagen. The global launch of the T Roc R seems to be slated for mid-2019. We expect Volkswagen to introduce the T Roc crossover in the Indian market by the year 2020. If launched on the Indian soil the standard T Roc crossover will compete with the Renault Captur, Hyundai Creta and the Nissan Kicks.
