2019 KTM RC 125 officially teased, to be launched soon in India

A new KTM motorcycle will be launched soon in India. While that line could mean the highly anticipated KTM 390 Adventure or the KTM 790 Duke, it is the younger super sport offering the KTM RC 125 that we are talking about. KTM India has released an official teaser video of the 2019 RC 125. While the company has not mentioned anything about the launch date, we believe it could happen in the coming weeks wherein the deliveries would begin soon after day. Our guess is sometime in July. With the RC 125, KTM will primarily lock horns with the Yamaha R15 v3. We expect KTM India to price this one at Rs 1.4 lakh, ex-showroom.

The 2019 KTM RC 125 will be based on the Duke 125 and will largely share mechanical components with the naked offering. As seen from the teaser video, KTM will be offering the an underbelly exhaust, fairing design similar to the larger RCs and other mandatory bits like saree guard and a front license plate. Also, the super sport machine sports a new orange shade on the fuel tank, fairing and also on the wheels that we have already seen on the test motorcycle which was captured earlier. Compared to the Duke 125, this one will have a more committed style of riding and will also come with a more aggressively positioned footpegs. If there would be any change in the rear subframe compared to that of the Duke 125 is something that needs to be seen.

KTM RC 125 caught on test in India

We expect the KTM RC 125 to be powered by a 125cc engine from the Duke 125 that churns out 14.5PS at 9,250rpm and 12Nm of torque at 8,000rpm and the engine is mated to a six-speed gearbox. The 125 Duke boasts of features like an USD (upside down) fork setup in the front and radially mounted front 300mm disc brake. The bike also gets an aluminium swingarm with a mono-shock absorber with 10 preload settings. We believe the same will be offered on the RC as well.
