Next-Gen BMW 3 Series to be launched in India on August 21
Following the launch of the BMW X7 SUV and the 7 Series sedan, the new generation G20 BMW 3 Series has been scheduled to be launched in India on August 21, 2019. The upcoming sedan debuted at the 2018 Paris Motor Show and has been spotted in India for test and homologation purposes.
The 2020 BMW 3 Series is based on an all-new CLAR platform, also seen on the 5 Series. This has led to up to a 55 kg weight reduction.
Also, the exteriors and interiors have been restyled, however, the styling largely remains the same with the iconic kidney grille in the front. The sedan carries a similar silhouette as the outgoing model.
Inside, there is a new 12.3-inch all-digital instrument cluster and the infotainment system now comes with a voice-assisted, AI-enabled system like Mercedes' MBUX interface.
The international spec 320d produces 190PS and 400Nm from a 2.0-litre diesel engine. The petrol option will see a 2.0-litre engine producing 184PS. A 330i could be on offer as well which produces 259PS and 400Nm of torque. Expect a plug-in hybrid too.
Expect the price to range between Rs 43-50 lakh (ex-showroom) and the new BMW 3 Series will rival the Mercedes Benz C Class, Jaguar XE and The Audi A4
