Ford is all set to launch the new EcoSport in India on November 9, 2017. The 2018 Ford EcoSport was unveiled for the European market last month. The new Ford EcoSport that will arrive in India soon is much more than just a facelift update. The revisions on the 2018 Ford EcoSport includes a new more appealing design, more premium interior with updated features as well as update in the powertrain department. Ford dealerships in India have already started taking bookings of the SUV while deliveries should commence by the end of this year.

The 2018 Ford EcoSport gets a smarter and more premium design

The 2018 Ford EcoSport has got much smarter than before in terms of design. This can be seen with the updated grille, bumper and also the headlight cluster that now features projectors and DRLs. The side profile of the 2018 Ford EcoSport does look reminiscent of what we have seen in the outgoing model, but the new SUV runs on bigger 17-inch wheels with new alloy design. Even the roof rail design has been tweaked. To the rear, while it was said that Ford might give the rear spare wheel a miss, but that's not the case.

The highlight of the cabin of the 2018 Ford EcoSport is the new large touchscreen infotainment system

The interior of the 2018 Ford EcoSport has been updated as well. Most important update is the new and large 8-inch touchscreen infotainment system, which looks impressive and also as modern as that in its rivals in India. It comes with Car Play and Android Auto connectivity options along with Sync3. Positioned on the centre, the new unit will be available as standard only on the premium trims whereas the base trim has to make do with a 6.5-inch touchscreen unit. Even the climate control system in the new EcoSport has been updated with a new design and controls. Since there is no change in the dimensions of the new SUV, we believe the cabin area for occupants will remain unchanged.

The 2018 Ford EcoSport debuts the new 1.5-litre Dragon petrol engine

The big new feature of the European Ford Ecosport is the new Ford Intelligent All Wheel Drive which is combined with a new 1.5-litre EcoBlue diesel to offer improvements in CO2 emissions performance as 125PS and 300Nm. A six-speed manual transmission is standard. The India-bound 2018 Ford EcoSport will debut the new three-cylinder 1.5-litre Ti-VCT Dragon petrol engine that makes 123PS/150Nm, which is being manufactured only in India at the company's Sanand plant in Gujarat.
