2019 Geneva Motor Show: Live updates
The 2019 Geneva Motor Show has started with a bang with different car manufacturers showcasing their production ready models as well as concepts that will make it into production in the coming years. While the first two days are reserved for the press media, the 88th International Motor Show will be open for the public till March 17, 2019 and is being hosted at the Palexpo, a convention centre located next to the Geneva Cointrin International Airport. From the 1,900PS Pininfarina Battista to Honda's first electric car, from the ultra gorgeous Bugatti to the India-bound Tata Altroz and Buzzard SUVs, the 2019 Geneva Motor Show has everything for every kind of automobile enthusiast. The Buzzard is based on the OMEGA platform which is a derivative of the Land Rover's D8 platform. Powering the new seven-seater SUV will be the same Fiat Multijet 2 derived Kryotec diesel engine, however, it will be tuned to have a higher output of 172PS, similar to the Jeep Compass. The Altroz was teased last month and the is essentially the production version of the 45X concept shown at the 2018 Auto Expo. The Altroz was codenamed the X451 and OVERDRIVE was the first to render the car during its initial phases of development.

The Aventador SVJ Roadster has a detachable roof which can be unhooked via quick-release levers and can be stored in the hood of the supercar. The roof is carbon fibre and is two separate panels, this makes the Aventador SVJ Roadster weigh 50kg more than the Lamborghini Aventador coupe. With deliveries for the Audi e-tron all-electric SUV set to start later this month, the fifth model in the line-up has been previewed at Geneva. The Q4 e-tron concept is a smaller-sized, pure electric model with twin electric motors and a claimed 450km range from its 82kWh battery, according to the new WLTP norms.
